Childrens day, Thailand great days out. 14th January
food-drink links
Great days out even if you have no kids! Before we had ours we would tag along with mates and visit the Navy bases in Khao Lak. Now we have the little one it is even more enjoyable.
Last year we had free run of a battleship, there were helicopter rides and all manner of fun things, sweets, ballons drawing competitions, photo ops and games. You need to ask around as I have never found much info on it for westerners, though all the Thais instinctively know and will be heading off somewhere.
Follow the crowds... It's not every where in the world you can go on the brig and deafen bystanders with a ships siren. Wow!!! was it ever loud and if I had retained some of my old western ways, I would have been dashing a letter of to the local rag.
Yours deafened, Bang Niang
